Whether your child is a beginning reader, someone who is having problems or a young person who wants to excel, our programmes can accommodate their needs.

The Literacy Circle programmes are illustrated in the diagram above.

  • LiteracyFoundationSteps: a language rich programme for students from the age of 3 years. The programme focuses on development of oral language through phonological awareness and guided oral discussion and fine motor skills using games, worksheets and teaching resources.
  • LiteracyLittleSteps: suitable for students from the ages of four years. This is the pre-reading (phonemic awareness) and alphabet mastery programme that is completed through an introduction to early phonics. The programme is supported with games, worksheets and teaching resources. Fine motor skills are also extended.
  • LiteracyBigSteps: is the complete literacy programme that builds on LiteracyLittleSteps skills and focuses on reading and spelling mastery. Students learn to use a variety of strategies to read such as blending sounds, learning sight words, improving fluency, speed and comprehension. LiteracyBigSteps also introduces basic grammar and develops basic comprehension skills. Games, worksheets, coded stories and readers and teaching resources support the teaching programme.
  • LiteracyPowerSteps: covers a wide range of literacy topic areas that develop skills which enhance a student's capacity to meet the demands placed upon them in a variety of settings. The principal components are focused on English Mastery.
